Description
This 1992 Colt Single Action Army Premier Edition revolver was produced as a limited commemorative by the U.S. Historical Society to honor the legendary Hopalong Cassidy, portrayed by William Boyd. Built on Colt’s iconic 3rd Generation SAA platform, this revolver showcases a combination of traditional craftsmanship and presentation-grade embellishment.
The revolver is silver-plated and enhanced with full foliate scroll engraving, while the 5.5" round barrel bears a single-line Colt address and the script “Hopalong Cassidy” in a rope border. The left recoil shield is detailed with a bust of Cassidy himself, and the genuine two-piece ivory grips display inlaid silver: “WLB” initials for William Lawrence Boyd on the left, and a “20” on the right panel.
This piece comes housed in a French-fitted leather-covered display case with red velvet lining and gold-leaf Hopalong Cassidy decoration. Also included are the original Colt factory box and blue plastic hard case. With its rarity, pristine condition, and connection to both Colt and Western film history, this revolver is a prized addition for serious Colt collectors.
